GRWA Takes Action for Earth Day

On April 9th, members of the GRWA team joined The Conservation Foundation at Dayton Bluffs for their volunteer work day. Dayton Bluffs is 253 acre preserve located a just outside Ottawa along Interstate 80 and the Fox River. The Conservation Foundation is working on clearing brush, restoring prairie, and installing trails, primitive campsites and kayak launch sites for public use. They are planning on opening the preserve in 2017 and they heavily rely on volunteers to help them make this a place where people will want to get out and enjoy nature.

Inspired by Earth Day, staff at GRWA are looking to our talents to give back to the community. Next month marks the 25th anniversary for the DuPage County River Sweep where volunteers work to remove trash from our water resources across the county, and we will be taking to the water to do our part.

We look forward to celebrating Earth Day tonight at the Conservation Foundation’s Annual Earth Day Benefit Dinner and hope to see you there.
