Winter Tree Identification
GRWA Staff, Ellen Raimondi, Ecologist, and Monica Goshorn-Maroney, Landscape Designer spent Valentines Day with Mr. Shouba, instructor at The Morton Arboretum. This was the last of five Sunday afternoon classes that covered the winter identification of trees at the Arboretum. Students develop the skills to identify trees using clues found in buds, fruits, leaf scars, bark, and branching patterns of winter trees. These two team members were joined with Carl Peterson and Gage Berger of our office in the completion of the course.
The Morton Arboretum education programs are available year-round and provide learning experiences for educators, families, kids, adults, school groups, youth groups, and scouts.
